An educational and environmental awareness visit was organized for the Bio and EVS students of Grades XI and XII by the Jajmau Tannery Effluent Treatment Association (JTETA). The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to wastewater treatment, environmental conservation, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around our water bodies.
During the visit, students toured the wastewater treatment plant and learned about the various stages involved in treating effluents generated by tanneries. The visit helped them connect their classroom learning with real-life applications of environmental science and chemistry. The students also attended an informative Workshop on Environment –importance of treating tannery wastewater before its discharge The interactive session encouraged students to become more responsible and environmentally conscious citizens. As part of the environmental initiative, the students participated in a tree plantation drive.
The visit to JTETA was an enriching and meaningful learning experience for the students of Grades XI and XII. The combination of the treatment plant visit, awareness workshop, tree plantation provided students with both knowledge and practical experience. It encouraged them to adopt environmentally responsible practices and inspired them to contribute towards creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable society.
