CELA FIESTA
A Celebration of Literature, Creativity and Diversity
Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur had the privilege of participating in the Round Square – Assam Valley School Literary Fest 2026, hosted virtually by The Assam Valley School on 14 August 2026. Held under the Round Square pillar of Internationalism and Democracy, the fest carried the inspiring theme “CELA Fiesta – A Melting Pot of Diverse Literature.” It brought together young literary enthusiasts and provided them with a vibrant platform to celebrate the power and diversity of words.
Representing the school were Aryaveer Gupta, Amulya Verma, Paakhi Ahuja, Hargun Kaur, Vamika Nanda, Shanza Fatima, Aarifa Butool, Bhavya Singh, Srishti Shukla and Aashini Khandelwal. The students participated with great enthusiasm and confidence, making the most of the varied literary experiences offered during the fest.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome followed by an engaging “Meet the Author” session. Students then participated in a series of creative and thought-provoking activities such as Original Poetry Recitation, Ink and Imagination – Original Storytelling, Create a Disguise – Twisted/Alternate Ending, Why I Did What I Did – Defend the Case, Become a Character – Guess Who, and interactive Movie, Book and Music Clubs.
The activities encouraged students to explore characters, alternate narratives, poetry and storytelling, while fostering critical thinking, empathy, creativity and effective communication. The interactive sessions further enabled them to appreciate diverse perspectives and connect with participants from different backgrounds.
The fest was a meaningful and enriching experience, helping students discover new dimensions of literature and express their ideas with greater confidence. It highlighted the power of literature to transcend cultural boundaries and connect people through stories and imagination, while embodying the spirit of Internationalism, creativity and literary expression.
