Round Square Conference 2023, held at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, on the theme “Protect, Preserve, Progress for Sustainable Happiness”, was one of its kind. The beautiful campus and the hospitality of students and teachers was worth appreciating. The Round Square conference was a landmark event. Two hundred plus delegates from twenty seven schools participated in the cultural shows, tree plantations, adventure activities and key note speeches by exceptional people on the topics related to environment were worth the time. All these activities enabled the students to develop in them leadership skills, critical thinking abilities, and social awareness and they also learnt about different cultures and perspectives.

Research has shown that students who participate in extracurricular activities tend to perform better academically, and this holds true for Round Square participants as well. The real-world experiences and hands-on learning provided by Round Square events increase students’ academic motivation, creativity, and self-efficacy. Moreover, Round Square activities offer students the opportunity to make meaningful connections with fellow students from around the world.

The emphasis on community service and environmental projects not only help students understand the impact they can have in their communities, but also foster a sense of empathy (which has now become a major emotional requirement) and support for others.
