Round Square Conference -HPS Hyderabad

Ms. Monica Dhingra along with 6 students of Class VII (Varnika Agarwal, Aarna Gupta, Aarush Kanodia, Vedant Agarwal, Aarav Misra and Kushagra tandon) visited The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet to attend the Round Square conference whose theme was “Adventure: Inhale Courage and Exhale Fear”. It was a 5-day event.

Day 1

The first day started off with great zeal and enthusiasm and engaged students in ice-breaking sessions . The evening was mesmerizing as we swayed listening to SOI (Symphony Orchestra of India), which had many foreign volunteers.

Day 2

The opening ceremony began in the Shaheen -an  assembly hall for senior students , with an address from the keynote speaker, Saad Bin Jung ,a former cricketer, wildlife conservationist and an author.  He talked about the importance of conservation and the need to let go off materialistic desires. We were then greeted by Baraza leaders ,who emphasized on the importance of overcoming our fears and becoming more courageous.

The cultural evening, was breath-taking as it was a unique blend of music, dance and drama that captivated the audience. We were all awestruck after seeing the mesmerizing performances of the other schools. The evening ended with all the students being lauded for their efforts, hard work as well as their innate talents.

Day 3

On the 24th, we headed to the ‘Cliff-In Adventure Park’ to be a part of thrilling adventure activities. The activities such as zip lining, sky cycling, mesh climbing, rock climbing pumped up our adrenaline. Sky-cycling, made them inhale courage and exhale fear in the true sense. The ,most exciting day concluded with a night camp.

Students learnt how to pitch a tent for themselves. The bonfire along with dance made the night enjoyable.

Day 4

We came back to our hotels, geared up for an exhilarating day at Ramoji-The largest Film City in the World. We visited the sets of famous Bollywood movies including Bahubali, Munna Bhai M.B.B. S& Chennai Express. Space Yatra and the Wild West Frontier Show were main attractions. We got to know how movies were made in an interactive session with one of the movie makers. The day ended with a delicious and sumptuous barbeque dinner along with songs playing for our own entertainment. 

Day 5

On 26th, we headed to the school in the patriotic fervour as we witnessed theRepublic Day programme, dressed in our traditional outfits.

There were Barazza sessions, timely which had discussions and exchange of thoughts on various events at the conference and games.

The closing ceremony was graced by the chief guest for the event, Mr. Arun Tiwari, a Missile Scientist and one of Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s most accredited advisor. He encouraged us to live in the present moment. He also talked about the importance of gratitude and appreciating small things in life. The orchestra put up by the students of HPS and also a dance conducted by the students of Primary School left us awestruck. Lastly, we collected our certificates with a closing group photograph to reminiscence the beautiful memories we made.

This RS conference was one of its kinds giving the proper holistic development to the students and training them in life skills. In the end, our students emerged as better human beings with enhanced oratory skills.
