Report on Mock Parliament Session held on 23rd April 2025

Mock Parliament Session – SAJMUN Club

With great enthusiasm, we share the successful conduct of a
Mock Parliament Session organized by the
Seth Anandram Jaipuria Model United Nations (SAJMUN) Club
on 23rd April 2025.
This event was exclusively curated for students of Classes VIII and above
as part of the Secretariat’s initiative to build momentum for the
11th Edition of SAJMUN.

Agenda of the Session

“Deliberating upon the need for introducing educational reforms in India,
with special emphasis on the RTE Act and the NTA, in light of the unfair
standardized testing landscape.”

The session brought together a student panel of 12 delegates
from Classes X, XI, and XII, who assumed the roles of
prominent political leaders and engaged in a spirited, well-informed debate.
They discussed the nuances of the Indian education system, shedding light
on challenges and proposing reforms with conviction and clarity.

Highlights of the Session

  • Best Speaker: Yamadagini Pandey (Class XI-B) as Rahul Gandhi
  • First Runner-up: Angira Purwar (Class XI-C) as Akhilesh Yadav
  • Second Runner-up: Rakshit Bhatia (Class XI-D) as Amit Shah

These students were awarded for their eloquence, research, and persuasive arguments.

The Mock Parliament was more than a competition; it was a
transformative learning experience that enhanced students’
understanding of the democratic process, parliamentary procedures, and policy discussions.
It also succeeded in motivating junior students to participate actively
in the upcoming SAJMUN conference.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Leadership Team
for their efforts in making this initiative a grand success.
