In the ICSE and ISC results declared on April 30, Inya Dwivedi, student of science stream, emerged as one of the top scorers of Kanpur city with 99.25 per cent in class 12. An 18-year-old from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Inya wants to follow in the footsteps of her parents and become a doctor.
“I grew up in a family of doctors, and since my childhood I have been watching my parents help people in need. They have been my biggest motivation. I want to follow them and serve this society by becoming a good doctor,” she told Times Now Digital.
The Kanpur girl described herself as a shy, but academically-oriented girl. Interestingly, while Inya was confident about her skills, she was not expecting such a high score. “I had always been a shy person by nature, and maybe because of that I became more inclined towards academic. I enjoy studying, especially my chosen subjects which are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Even for my parents academic had always been a priority, because of which I was always focused on my goal,” she explained.
As a regular school student, Inya strongly suggests skipping out on dummy schools, and supports the idea of continuing with regular school even if one is preparing for competitive entrance exams such as JEE or NEET. “Regular schools are important because those are the institutions where people have known you for years. Your teachers are aware about your personality, your strengths and weaknesses. And then you also have friends who can not only help you, but can also be responsible for your good mental health. Dummy school students are not at any advantage,” she added.
Inya used to study 6-7 hours on a daily basis, but increased the hours to nearly 10-12 from January when board exams were approaching. However, even when the exams were approaching, Inya ensured she did not isolate herself and was in constant contact with her friends.
“It is very important to stay in contact with friends because you are all sailing in the same boat, and nobody can understand your situation better than them,” she said.
In addition to talking to friends, her parents and grandmother, Inya also enjoys reading fiction novels to relax — with A Suitable Boy and Princess Diaries being her favourites.
