EXCURSION TO MOUNT ABU

EXCURSION TO MOUNT ABU

The students of class XII, pursuing Humanities went for an excursion to Mt.Abu from the 21st to 26th of July.

After a gruelling yet fun- filled overnight journey by train, they were more than elated to watch the train halt at the station; the simple thought of grabbing an opportunity to be awash with fresh air and straighten their backs exhilarated their somewhat doused spirits.

On the first day, they went for boating on the Nakki Lake.

On the second day, they climbed the highest peak of the Aravallis- Guru Shikhar(5650 ft.) and also offered prayers to lord Shiva in the AchleshwarMahadevMandir. They also trekked in the ruins of the Achalgarh fort, claiming all the discernible nooks and corners.

The next day also was extremely eventful. In the morning they visited Dilwara temple- an epitome of exquisitely carved boulders of marble-and a local Gurudwara. In the evening. They visited the sunset point and ended the day with a close view of the fading sun. On the concluding day, they trekked through the wild green mazes of Abu to reach the humongous Toad Rock. After spending a couple of hours revelling in the cool breeze, they headed towards the railway station and boarded the train to Kanpur.
