Creativity and Confidence

Researchers have proved that all human beings are creative. Quite often people confuse creativity with a person’s artistic abilities but the truth couldn’t be further. Creative people have the aptitude to stretch their imagination, correlate contrasting ideas, understand different perspectives and provide views that wouldn’t be obvious at first glance.

Creativity is a mind-set. It is a person’s ability to comprehend and express his views, considering other opinions, adapting to different scenarios and still finding a way out. In the words of Albert Einstein,

“Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought.”

From a young age, people display creativity; be it in terms of singing, dancing, writing; at its rawest  and every common activity. Society, like it is today, has a view of its own on everything and people who have the courage to exhibit and act on their interest, soon face judgement which may douse their flame.

At this point, if the person has courage to overcome that judgement and grow from his  failure, it is termed as Creative Confidence.

The courage and confidence to showcase an idea in an unsure environment without hesitation, is, as I believe, the true definition of Creative Confidence. Such people always have an optimistic outlook in situations and can find solutions from dead ends.

Creativity, is a power each one of us hold. It is not something that can be learned but what radiates from the very core of one’s existence.

Tom Kelly rightly said, – “That combination of thought and action defines creative confidence: the ability to come up with new ideas and the courage to try them out.”
