On 26th June,2021 , SAI International School, Bhubaneswar organised ‘Booktopia’, a global reading festival inspired by Round Square ideals, to encourage reading habits among school students. Ten students from classes IX to XII of our school, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur, participated in the same. Teen prodigy Elise Marr, a writer, composer, singer, actor and musician was the keynote speaker. Marr interacted with the gathering, sharing her experiences and encouraging us to develop reading habits for our own personal growth. Each student was given a different barraza heading various book genres. Each barraza conducted various activities and held discussions, engaging in different conversations and knowing other’s opinions helped us open a complete new point of view towards various things and situations. Two students from our school even engaged in presenting the presentations in the closing ceremony. Pranjali Gupta and Ashlesha Misra participated in Character Costume Competition and Ashlesha was selected as one of the finalists in the senior category. Not only did Booktopia grant us a treasure trove of knowledge but also left us with numerous great friends. Booktopia was overall an enthralling and incredibly enriching experience, leaving all of us with a deeper understanding in various book genres.
