5 days, 17 students, 3 teachers and 2 amazing destinations. The thrill had begun. From the moment these 20 enthusiasts boarded the train from Kanpur on 20th May to Ghaziabad, the itinerary was packed with activities and the heat of the summer was beaten by the zeal of the students.
Day 1:
saw them rising early to visit the Forest Research Institute. The entirely brick made building of this Institute comprised laboratories and herbariums. They were taken to 6 museums related to Forestry where the inquisitive heads were left amazed. Their energy and thrilling spirit was tested at the robber’s cave where they had a one kilometre trek through the Rocky caves with freezing water up to their knees. Their energy was still at its peak when they went to the serene Tibetan Buddhist temple. They saw one of the tallest idols of Buddha in the world and were left enchanted by the tranquility of the temple. At the end of the day they went to the Pacific mall and the shopping freaks explored the biggest mall of Uttarakhand with excited spirits.
Day 2:
After a heavy breakfast on day 2, the students had packed their knapsacks to head towards the renowned Kempty falls. Situated at an altitude of 4500 feet, the fall was a sight to behold. The cold waters literally gave us shivers down our spines. Street food, the road shopping and a long trek back to the hotel made the day well spent.
Day 3:
Day 3 was a memory maker as they went trekking for 16 kilometres on the hilly Terrain at Hathipaon. It really pumped their adrenaline as it was a track through the dense forest. It was a testing time for their sneakers but they moved on with a lot of ‘Josh’. That was not all. After such a tiring Trek, they came back to the hotel and a hot water bath rejuvenated them as they enjoyed the Tambola in the hotel.
Day 4:
Day 4 was a much awaited day as we boarded the bus to reach Dhanaulti for the adventure activities. The enthralling Skywalk and zipline were a boost up for the shivering children in the cold rainy weather. They enjoyed to the fullest in the park and did many adventurous and thrilling activities. A stroll in the famous Mall Road completed their day and they purchased many local mementos. Dinner at the hotel with DJ excited the enthusiasts the most at the end of the memorable trip.
Day 5:
The next day we headed towards Ghaziabad to board our train back to Kanpur. The memorable 5 days were coming to an end and the faces of the students showed their sorrows well. They enjoyed throughout the return journey. It was indeed an unforgettable excursion where the students both enjoyed and learned together.
