A Letter’s Journey: Grade 1 Students Explore the Post Office

A letter at the post office is a promise waiting to be delivered.”
On 6th March 2025 our school Seth Anandram Jaipuria School organized an educational visit for Grade 1 students to the local Post Office to help them to understand how it functions.

The post office plays a crucial role in communication, parcel delivery, and financial services. This visit allowed the students to see how letters and parcels are processed and how different services operate. Each student received a postcard. They wrote heartfelt messages to their family members. After completing the messages, children were guided on how to correctly write the address. At the post office, they observed different counters dedicated to various services such as mailing letters, speed post, money orders, and savings accounts. A postal employee explained the process of sending a letter. The trip helped us appreciate the hard work of postal workers in ensuring smooth communication and delivery services across the country.

It was an engaging activity where students wrote and sent postcards to their families. This activity aimed to expose the students about traditional letter writing and how the postal system works. This activity was both educational and exciting. It allowed students to experience the joy of sending physical letters, something rare in the digital age. Students eagerly await the arrival of the postcards at home, making the experience even more memorable.
