5th Edition Critical Thinking Round Table Sunbeams School- Lahartara

The Sunbeams School organized 5th Edition Critical Thinking Round Table from 2 to 4 February 2022. The event was dedicated to the 250th Birth Commemoration of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, the forthcoming 150th Birth Commemoration of Sri Aurobindo, and the 100th Birth Commemoration of Verghese Kurien also the Birth Centenary of Satyajit Ray. 

The event saw the participation of 68 schools of National and International repute. Our school was represented by Round Square Rep. Mr. Manish Sakseria, Dr. Nandita Shukla, Rinku Pandey, & Saba Ahmed. The students team had Priyansh Roongta, Kuresh Maheshwari, Kushagra Bhatia,  Rida Tandon, Ishanvi Seth, Siya Kapoor, Saanvi Bhalla, Paavni Singh, Vedant Bagla, Riddhima Garg, Avika Kapoor, Devang Somani, Rutv Bhatia, Gauri Bhalla, Pankhudi Gupta, Saanvi Jain.

The competition had uniquely curated events like

  • Multi-format English Debate
  • General Quiz
  • Creative Writing
  • Shakespeareana: English Experimental Short Radio Play Enactment
  • Multi-Disciplinary Kinetic Art Installation Competition
  • Telling The Tale: A Storytelling Journey
  • Image scale: A Visual Art Exploration
  • Sensorium: Museum Of Material And Tactile Senses Challenge.

It was indeed an exhilarating experience for our students to be part of such a dynamic event. The diversity and modernity of the events intrigued the participants. Multi-Disciplinary Kinetic Art Installation, at first, left the participants astounded and puzzled but they later realised how exuberant art forms depiction could be. The Multi Format Block and Tackle debate was also a very new experience. The triptych in Imagescape was unique and attractive. Our Students Ishanvi Seth, Rida Tondon & Sia Kapoor made the school proud when they won The Critics Choice Award in Shakespearena- English Experimental short Radio Play Enactment.

The event served as a locus for inter-disciplinary collaboration and discourses on various themes.

The key take-away:

  • Sharing ideas with like-minded participants for a solution to a better world.
  • Take the risk to do something out of the box
  • Preparing students to respond to world’s challenges
  • It encouraged the students as a community of progressive learners.
